Dr. Michael Weigand, Medical Director

Dr. Michael Weigand graduated from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.  Upon moving to California, he worked at Alosta Animal Hospital in Glendora for eight years before opening Terra Vista Animal Hospital in 1994.

Dr. Weigand is a member of the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce, the California Veterinary Medical Association and has served as the Secretary on the Board of the Inland Valley Emergency Pet Clinic in Upland since 1998. Always committed to practice excellence, Terra Vista Animal Hospital is an American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) accredited practice and the current facility has been recognized as a 2014 Merit Award Winner in the Veterinary Economics Hospital Design Competition.

In his leisure time he enjoys exercising, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife Liz and their two daughters, Madison and Brooke, share their home with their schnauzer, Daisy.

Dr. Meredith May-Apablaza

Dr. Meredith May-Apablaza (you can call her Dr. May J) is a local growing up in the Chino Valley area. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. It was during this time she spent her summers working with Dr. Weigand at Terra Vista Animal Hospital. She attended veterinary school at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. May then pursued a small animal internship, which she completed in September 2012. This internship allowed her to gain invaluable experience in the management of critical emergency cases, as well as the opportunity to work with board-certified internists, surgeons, cardiologists and emergency medicine specialists.

Dr. May returned to Terra Vista Animal Hospital in 2012 as an associate veterinarian. Dr. May cherishes the ability to develop and foster the human-animal bond, working with families to provide high quality care for their pets.

Dr. May-Apablaza lives in Rancho Cucamonga with her husband and two daughters. They have a full house with 4 dogs: Daisy (terrier/Chihuahua mix), Joaquin (cocker/poodle mix), Decoy (African Greyhound), and Gracie (Labrador Retriever). They also often rescue exotic animals including Bearded Dragons and Hedgehogs. The family enjoys running, hiking, and fly-fishing together. Dr. May unwinds with cooking and reading a good book.

Dr. Hana Krauss

Dr. Hana Krauss graduated from Western University of Health Sciences. She takes pride in communicating with clients to find solutions for treatment of their pet’s unique needs and constantly researching for new treatment and answers to clients growing questions.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, running, and just generally being outside. She also likes spending time with her family and friends and her rabbit, Mimsy.

Dr. Emma Bird

Dr. Emma Bird graduated from Western University of Health Sciences in 2019. She prides herself in great communication and strives to see each pet as if they were her own. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery as well.

In her downtime, she enjoys going to concerts, being active outside and in the gym. She also likes spending time with her family and friends including her five four-legged children.

Brianne, Practice Manager

Brianne is a dedicated Practice Manager with 22 years of experience. Brianne takes pride in her commitment to providing pet parents and their pets with the care and love they truly deserve.

Outside of her professional role, Brianne finds excitement in spending time with her family and going on small trips.  Brianne also enjoys outdoor time and reading on the beach.

 

Sydney, RVT, Veterinary Technician

Sydney is a highly experienced Registered Veterinary Technician with an impressive 34 years of dedication to the veterinary field. Sydney takes great pride in being a team player and providing high-quality nursing care to both her patients and the people who love them. Her commitment to collaboration and excellence in veterinary medicine is evident in her long and successful career.

In her free time, Sydney enjoys a variety of interests that showcase her vibrant personality. She finds enjoyment in playing billiards, showcasing her vocal talents through karaoke, nurturing her green thumb with gardening, and expressing her creativity through crafting. Additionally, Sydney has a unique hobby of making shell wind chimes, adding a touch of artistry to her leisure activities. Sydney’s commitment to teamwork and excellence in her professional life is complemented by a rich array of hobbies that reflect her dynamic and well-rounded personality.

Allie, RVT, Veterinary Technician

Allie is a skilled Registered Veterinary Technician and the Technician Supervisor at Terra Vista Animal Hospital, where she has been practicing for five years. Allie takes pride in her role as an advocate for the patients under her care, contributing to their well-being and ensuring they receive the attention and support they need.

In her free time, Allie enjoys the simple pleasures of life. She values spending quality moments outdoors with her husband and dogs, relishing the companionship and joy they bring. Allie also finds relaxation and mental nourishment in reading, allowing her to escape into different worlds through the pages of a book. Complementing her outdoor activities, she maintains a healthy lifestyle by dedicating time to the gym, prioritizing physical well-being. Allie’s commitment to patient advocacy in her professional life is harmoniously balanced by her love for outdoor activities, literature, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle in her personal time.

Cynthia, Veterinary Assistant

Cynthia is a skilled Veterinary Assistant with four years of experience at Terra Vista Animal Hospital. Cynthia takes great pride in her role, finding fulfillment in helping pet owners care for their beloved animals on a daily basis. She sees herself as an advocate for animals, cherishing the opportunity to be part of the love and care that owners provide. Cynthia possesses a special connection with animals, finding joy in knowing how to help them when they need it the most. In her free time, Cynthia enjoys practicing yoga, reading, and spending quality moments with her family, friends, and fur babies. Lauren, Veterinary Assistant

Lauren is a dedicated Veterinary Assistant with five years of experience in the veterinary field. Lauren prides herself on having a big heart and the courage to treat pets with care, regardless of their demeanor. She is passionate about dedicating her life to helping pet owners and their beloved animals, treating each one as if they were her own. Chloe, Veterinary Assistant

Laura, Veterinary Assistant

Laura is an experienced and dedicated Veterinary Assistant with an impressive 30 years of experience. Laura takes pride in her long-standing commitment to contributing to the health and care of animals in a kind and loving manner. Her wealth of experience reflects a deep understanding of the importance of compassionate care in veterinary medicine.

In her free time, Laura enjoys a diverse range of activities. She finds joy in spending quality moments at home with her husband and their dog, Chipa. Laura is an adventurer at heart, whether it’s soaking in the sun at the beach, exploring the mountains, cheering for her favorite hockey team (GO KINGS!!), or immersing herself in the energy of concerts. Beyond her outdoor pursuits, she has a green thumb, taking pleasure in caring for her plants, and she also expresses her creativity through drawing. Christy, Veterinary Assistant
Christy is a seasoned Veterinary Assistant with an impressive 26 years of dedication to Terra Vista Animal Hospital. Christy takes great pride in her expertise in patient care, demonstrating a passion for working with anesthesia/surgical cases, drawing blood, setting catheters, and performing dentals. Her multifaceted skills contribute to the comprehensive care of the animals under her watch, reflecting her commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine.

Outside of her professional realm, Christy finds joy in spending quality time with her two boys. Together, they enjoy the great outdoors through camping, hiking, and beach outings.
